COUND, John Douglas, Jr." Doug", 66, a resident of Montgomery, AL, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at his home.  Funeral services will be held on Satur­day, January 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Leak-Memory Chapel with Rev. Rhon Carleton offici­ating.  Burial will be in Green­wood Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Doug graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1961 and The Uni­versity of Alabama in 1965.  He then entered the United States Army as a 2nd Lieuten­ant.  After serving 2 years of active duty, he returned to Montgomery and was a local businessman for 40 years.  Doug truly loved the out­doors, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He was a kindhearted, caring and loving man.  He loved the Lord and his family.  Doug was a mem­ber of Frazer UMC.  He is sur­vived by his daughter, Caro­line Cound Griffin (Jason) of Charlotte, NC; sons, John Douglas Cound, III (Leigh) of Birmingham, AL, Richard Randolph "Randy" Cound of Dadeville, AL; five grandchil­dren, Alexandra Ryden Cound, Virginia Leigh Cound, Molly Caroline Cound, John Douglas Cound, IV, and My­ers Douglas Griffin; his moth­er, Johnel Loard of Montgom­ery; sisters, Johnel Cound Haigler (Noni) of New Or­leans, LA, Joy Loard McRae (Arnold) of Montgomery; brother, Richard Grover Al­lgood (Melissa) of McShan, AL; and six nieces and neph­ews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Doug Cound to Frazer UMC. Leak-Memory Chapel Directing.
