Angela Godwin Williams (Vigil) (-2007) - Class Of 1954

VIGIL, Angela Godwin Wil­liams, joined God our Father in heaven on Friday, Decem­ber 7, 2007. Angela was born to Wilmer Newton and Avis LaNell Williams in Andalusia, AL.  She attended Lanier High School of Montgomery and the University of Alabama, member of Alpha Delta Pi. While being an air-line stew­ardess in Nashville, TN, An­gela wed James Vigil, III. She settled in Orlando in 1960, where she became a matri­arch of a growing family. Opening Angela’s Antiques in College Park in 1971 and by her selfless nature she then closed the store to raise four children. Through her guid­ance and perseverance all her children completed col­lege. She was a believer that an education and knowl­edge was one of the neces­sary keys to life to teach us both compassion and toler­ance. She joins her parents and brother Robert Dewayne Williams in heaven with the angels.  To cherish her memo­ries she is survived by her lov­ing husband, James, of al­most 50 years; son James Wil­liams Vigil, IV of Eustis, FL; three daughters, Rebecca Gubert, husband Alex, son Kenneth of Gotha, FL; Loretta Tabb, husband Mack, daugh­ters, Ashley and Angela of Richmond, VA, and Elizabeth Williams Vigil of Indian Har­bour Beach, FL; nephews, Robert Dewayne Williams, Joe Williams, Angela Wil­liams, son Robert Williams and families.  She was a resource of energy and a selfless provider of care, time, generosity and love. She was compassion­ate, concerned and kind to all she met.  As we remember Angela and pay tribute to her, we must remember that this is not the final tribute to An­gela - she lives on in the hearts and lives of those she loved and of those who love her.
