John E. Holt (1954-2010) - Class Of 1972

HOLT, Mr. John E., 56, a resi­dent of Montgomery, AL tran­sitioned to his heavenly home Monday, February 1, 2010.  Celebration of life services will be conducted Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 1:00 PM from Maggie Street Mission­ary Baptist Church, 642 Mag­gie St., Montgomery, AL with Rev. Ezekiel Pettway, officiat­ing. Interment will follow in Eastwood Memorial Gardens,7500 Wares Ferry Rd., Mont­gomery, AL with Ross-Clayton Funeral Home, Inc., directing.  Mr. Holt will lie in repose at the church commencing at12:00 noon.  Mr. Holt was edu­cated at Alabama State Laboratory High School and Sidney Lanier High School of Montgomery, where he grad­uated in 1972.  He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents, the late John B. and Martha H. Holt and Willie Mae Mack of Montgomery, Ala­bama, also his grandmother, the late Fannie Hughes of Montgomery, Alabama, a loving nephew the late An­thony Cochran and his late special cousin Shirley Ann An­derson of Birmingham, Ala­bama.  All who knew and loved John E. Holt will remem­ber his smile, pleasant per­sonality, work ethics and care giving heart.  A flower has been chosen from the rose garden. To cherish his glorious memo­ries is his only loving and de­voted son, John Orlando Holt (Brenda), one energetic two-year old grandson, Ke’lab Or­lando Holt, three loving sis­ters, Claudia E. Cochran (Ra­ymond, Sr.), affectionately known as “Phyllis”of Birming­ham, Alabama, Brenda Joy­ce Jackson of Detroit, Michi­gan, and Barbara G. Mack of Montgomery, Alabama, one warm-spirited aunt, Annie Pearl Milton of Birmingham, Alabama, affectionately known as “Auntie”, numerous nephews, nieces and cous­ins. Among his special friends who were also his pals to share grand memories are Annette K. Russell, Verla Thomas and Rose Penn of Montgomery, Alabama.
