Freddie A. Lawhorne (Copeland) - Class Of 1953

Freddie Ann Lawhorne Copeland died on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at home in Montgomery, Alabama. Freddie was born on April 13, 1935, in Moultrie, Georgia. She moved with her family to Montgomery, where she graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and attended Huntingdon College. Freddie married Richard Franklin Copeland on September 24, 1955.

 Freddie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Copeland; her parents, Blanche Tison and Fred Lawhorne; her brother, Wayne Lawhorne; her sister, Linda Lawhorne Beard; and her grandson-in-law, Gerald Duncan.

 Survivors include her beloved daughters: Pam Bostick (Hugh) of Mobile, Alabama, and Kim Thompson (Jody) of Montgomery. Freddie was a proud grandmother to Ashley Thompson Duncan of Montgomery, Elizabeth

Bostick Leatherbury (Gregory) of Mobile; Parker Bostick (Terri) of Fairhope, Alabama; Tison Singleton and Caroline Singleton of

Montgomery. She was blessed with six great-grandchildren: Hunter Duncan, Ann Coleman, Parker Leatherbury, and Bradley, Miller, and Copeland Bostick. She is also survived by her sister, Sallie Lawhorne Peacock, of Pine Level, Alabama.

 Freddie's love for family was evident in the close bonds she maintained across generations. She cherished every moment with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Freddie valued her friendships, sharing many memorable moments and fostering lifelong connections.

 A private family memorial service will be held at Wesley Church, Montgomery, Alabama.  In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations to Wesley Church, 608 East Fairview Avenue, Montgomery, Alabama 36106.
