William Lawson "Chief" Hudson (1935-2008) - Class Of 1953

HUDSON, Mr. William Law­son “Chief”, age 73, a resi­dent of Montgomery, AL passed away Monday, July 28, 2008. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 1, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Gassett Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dallas Burdette officiating. Interment with full City of Montgomery Police Department honors will follow in Seman Congrega­tional Church Cemetery with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing.  Chief Hudson is survived by his son, Brian Lawson Hudson of Montgomery, AL; daughters, Robin Lynn Hudson of Mont­gomery, AL and Kelley Mi­chelle (Brent) Langley of Tal­lassee, AL; and six grandchil­dren. Pallbearers will be City of Montgomery Police De­partment Honor Guard. Flow­ers will be accepted or me­morial contributions may be made to Brantwood Chil­dren’s Home, 1309 Upper We­tumpka Road, Montgomery, AL 36107. The family will re­ceive friends from 6:00 PM un­til 9:00 PM Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Gassett Funeral Home. Chief Hudson honor­ably served his country in the United States Army, begin­ning a career of public serv­ice that would last nearly three decades. He served with the City of Montgomery Police Department, retiring after 25 years with the rank and distinction of Deputy Chief.
