R. Otis Russell, Jr. of Pike Road died on August 8, 2013. Services will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Sunday, August 11, 2013. The Reverend Tim Meadows and Warner Floyd will conduct the service. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and a memorial service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Otis was the retired president of the Alabama Concrete Industries Association. He was a graduate of Auburn University. Before illness took its toll, Otis was an active member of the community of Pike Road and Woodland United Methodist Church. Otis was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Otis Russell, Sr. and Susie Gray Martin Russell, as well as his brother, Dr. Lee Martin Russell. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marietta Bolling Russell, and his daughters, Catherine Bolling Russell, and Ellen Russell Hatfield. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Betty Ann Russell, his nephews Lee M. (Russ) Russell, Jr. and Scott C. Russell, and his niece Susan Cameron. The family would like to acknowledge its utmost appreciation to Dr. George Handey, Imedysis Hospice, his beloved caregiver Joyce Rogers, and the countless kindness of friends during this long journey. Pall Bearers will be William R. (Bill) Gaston, Shane Griffith, John Sorrell, Russ Russell, Scott Russell, and George McCulley. Memorials may be made to Woodland United Methodist Church, the Montgomery Humane Society, or the charity of your choice .
