Terrell "Terry" M. Jones (1934-2005) - Class Of 1952

JONES, Terrell M., 71 of Houston, TX died November 19, 2005, after a long illness. Terry grew up in Montgomery and graduated from Sidney Lanier High School ('52) and Auburn University.  He was a Fullbright Scholar to the University of London and attended Brown University in Providence, RI for his Doctorate.  His career included rocket scientist and, later, petroleum engineer until his retirement in 1992.  He was active in the ASME for 50 years, participating in programs worldwide.  He was also an active volunteer in the Houston Community, helping establish the Barbara Bush Library, and was also a supporter and director of manhattantheatre-source in New York.  He is survived by two daughters, Christine Jones Kestner (John Roberts) of Summit Point, West Virginia, and Cheryl Fiona Jones of New York City; two granddaughters Dorotea Flores-Kestner and Rebecca Roberts; his sister Harriett Jones Allie of Montgomery, AL, and nieces and nephews; aunt, Marguerite Jones Lord of Montgomery, and cousins. A memorial service was held on Nov. 23, 2005, at the Barbara Bush Library.
