Dwight Cleveland went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, February 27, 2012. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 1, 2012 beginning at 1 p.m. at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home with funeral services following in the chapel at 2 p.m. with Benjamin Blanchard officiating. Interment will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 29 years, Judy Cleveland; his daughters, Cindy Burnside (Sheldon), Lindy Blanchard (John), Yvonne Hawkins; his stepchildren, Amy Mack (Craig) and Brian Johnson (Erin); his grandchildren, Shana Phillips (William), Paul Burnside, Matt Burnside, Ben Blanchard, Haley Blanchard, Mae Mae Blanchard, and Michael Hawkins; and his brother, John Scales. Mr. Cleveland retired from Troy University as the Director of the Department of Radio and Television and was well respected in the field of radio broadcasting. The family wishes to thank his loving and faithful caregivers, Ann Peagler, Barbara Albert, Ester Calvin, Kitty Harris and Tangie Peagler, for their kindness and compassion shown to Dwight. The family is grateful to Angela Smith and Amedysis Hospice for their superior care and support.
