BLACK, Robert Coleman, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2008. The funeral will be held on 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at First United Methodist Church, 2416 W. Cloverdale Park, Montgomery, Alabama 36106 with Dr. Karl K. Stegall officiating.  The family will re­ceive friends one hour prior to the service in Fellowship Hall. Private graveside will fol­low.  Mr. Black was preceded in death by his parents, James Monroe Black, Jr. and Mabel Coleman Black, and brother James Monroe Black, III.  He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carolyn Musselwhite Black, and his children, Eliza­beth Anne Black Stuart (Craig) of Wichita, Kansas, Carolyn Jane Black of Bir­mingham, Alabama, and son Robert Coleman Black, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Montgomery, Alabama; his grandchildren, Clayton Coleman Stuart and Kaylea Marie Stuart of Wichi­ta, Kansas; Ann Lowery Blackand Lillian Margaret Black of Montgomery, Alabama; sis­ter, Mary Nan Black Williams of Birmingham, Alabama; and a host of nieces and nephews.  Mr. Black practiced law with Hill, Hill, Carter, Franco, Cole & Black, P.C. for 46 years and was past president of the Montgomery County Bar As­sociation.  Mr. Black was an active member of First United Meth­odist Church of Montgomery, and the Montgomery Lions Club where he served as President and Chairman of the Youth to Europe Program.  He served on the Board of Di­rectors of Saint James School for many years where he held the positions of Secre­tary, Vice-President, and Presi­dent. Mr. Black was on the Board of Directors for the March of Dimes, the Commu­nity Counseling Service, and the Crime Prevention Bureau and was a past trustee of Mount Meigs Industrial School. He was a member of Wright Flyers and was a spon­sor of a seminar group at the Air War College for many years.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Unit­ed Church Building Fund or your favorite charity.  Pallbearers include: Robert Brock, Ronald Brown, Sterling G. Culpepper, William Inge Hill, III, Knox McClaney, Randall Morgan, Perry Ro­quemore, Pat Thomas Wil­liams. Honorary Pallbearers include: Walter T. Ashurst, Da­vid Dean, Thomas Hopkins, William A. Hughes, III, Joseph Mason Rodgers, Clarence Small, and the law firm of Hill, Hill, Carter, Franco, Cole & Black, P.C.  Leak-Memory Chapel Directing.
