BARNES, Robert Bennie was born on March 21, 1934 to Tom Bennie and Lillian Burkett Barnes. Bobby left this world on November 6, 2008 after a brief illness. He leaves to cherish his memory a wife of 54 years, Norma Hedrick Barnes; three daughters, Debbie Trott (Marvin), Lee Rolen (Zack), and Bonnie Zambiasi (Mike).The lights of his life were two granddaughters, Alice Rolen and Marlee Trott; six grandsons, Bobby Trott (Jennifer),Granger Shook, Zack Rolen,Tommy Trott, Penton Shook, and Walker Rolen. Bobby was a two sport athlete at Lanier High School and The University of Alabama where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be his beloved teammates and fraternity brothers, the Red Elephant Club, the Quarterback Club, the Blue Grey Colonels, and co-workers from 50 years in the automobile business. Visitation will be Sunday November 9 from 4:00 to 6:00p.m. at Southern Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday November 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Southern Memorial Funeral Home with Jay Wolfe officiating. Donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Montgomery on Perry Street.
