Robert "Bob" Ithamer Ward (1933-2013) - Class Of 1952

Robert Ithamer Ward was born in Atlanta, GA on January 9, 1933 and died in Montgomery, AL on December 30, 2013. He is survived by his devoted life companion of 24 years, Karry Fraser; three children, Lamar (Karen) Ward, Adrienne (Damon) Houston, and Timothy (Joni) Ward; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte (William) Harris; a brother, Chele (Teresa) Ward, Jr.; and a brother-in-law, John (Mary) Regnier; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chele and Ora Ward and two sisters, Carita Jeck and Jane Regnier. Bob was a successful businessman, being a developer and owner of the Automatic Protection Company of Alabama for 42 years. In this capacity he was a key representative of the Gamewell Company in Alabama and served this company as a volunteer technical advisor for many years. He will be sorely missed by his many business associates and friends as well as his special compatriot, his and Karry's "Happycat". During his active life he was an avid and accomplished golfer, loved to sail, and to try his luck at games of chance. There will be a graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. No visitation is planned and the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Montgomery in lieu of flowers.
