HAMMAR, Peggy Jean Martin, 75, a resident of Montgomery died Monday, January 19, 2009. Visitation will beat Leak-Memory Chapel on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Mrs. Hammar is preceded in death by her brother, Leslie Martin, Jr. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, John Hammar; sons, Jon Hammar, Sr. and wife Olivia and Edward Hammar; and grandchildren, Jon Hammar, Jr, Katie Hammar, and Wesley Hammar. Peggy graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1951 and attended Auburn University. She was an Air Force wife who worked for the government both stateside and overseas. She raised two successful sons and was a loving grandmother. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity or the Montgomery Humane Shelter.
