John Burns Paterson, Jr. June 7, 1932 – April 6, 2007.  John Burns Paterson, Jr. passed away Friday, April 6, 2007 after an extended ill­ness. He was the son of John Burns Paterson, Sr. and Sarah Horn Paterson.  He graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and Auburn University where he was a member of the Auburn University Golf Team. He was a Captain in the United States Air Force where he served as a pilot. Throughout his career, he was President of Rosemont Gar­dens. He was a dedicated member of The First United Methodist Church.  He is survived by his wife of fif­ty-three years Betty Van Met­calfe Paterson and children John Burns Paterson, III and his wife, Nancy, and Sally Pat­erson Fletchinger and her husband, Don and one sister, Patsy Paterson Chappelle.  His grandchildren, John Burns Paterson, IV, William Thomas Paterson, Elizabeth Tuyl Flet­chinger, Stacy Metcalfe Flet­chinger and Alyson Caffery Fletchinger. A memorial service will beheld at The First United Meth­odist Church on Monday, April 9, 2007 at 11:00 a.m.Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 7, 2007 from 5:00 –7:00 at 2050 Fernway Drive. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert J. Russell, Robert L.Chappelle, John Paterson Chappelle, Reuben Earl Thornton, David Whetstone Thames, William Kendrick Up­church, Jr., William Jere Long­shore, Dr. E.
