Ralph Maurice Haber - Class Of 1950

Ralph Maurice Haber, 84, of Montgomery, AL went home to be with the Lord, Monday, September 16, 2013. He preceded his wife of 43 years Marie Talley Haber: his mother and father Russell Glenn Haber, and Gertrude Haber, a brother, Burlyn Haber, and a sister Eloise Dunn.

Mr. Haber is survived by his two sons, Andy Haber of Atlanta, GA and Dan Haber of Winter Park, FL; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Walthall Haber as well as three Grandchildren Drew Haber, Sydney Haber and Richard Daniel Haber II. Visitation will be Friday September 20th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Leak Memory Memorial. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Leak-Memorial Chapel, Montgomery. Burial will immediately follow at Greenwood Cemetery. After Graduating from Sidney Lanier he attended Auburn University. Mr. Haber served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He made his home in the Pinedale area in Montgomery. He enjoyed coaching the boys softball team at Pinedale Community Center and would often show off his acrobatic skills of walking on his hands off the diving board into the pool. Mr. Haber also enjoyed gardening, beekeeping, camping and fishing. He was a state champion in the fast-walk event of the Senior Olympics winning numerous awards. Mr. Haber was a member of Evangle Temple where he took part in mission trips to Honduras, Argentina, Jamaica, and Guatemala building orphanages and churches. Serving as pallbearers are Drew Haber, Randall Fulmer, Roland Wynn, Glenn Haber, George Walthall III, Owen Reese, Scott Youngblood and Carey Wynn.
