Rex Howard Fowler (1931-2011) - Class Of 1950

Rex Howard Fowler, 80, of Fayetteville,GA passed away on September 2, 2011. Mr. Fowler was a 14 year member of Inman United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. He retired from FAA as an Air Traffic Controller. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Kiwanis and enjoyed working with the Little League and Boy Scouts in Fayette County. He loved to study WWII history and worked as a Docent at the Carter Center for 15 years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Katy Joyce Fowler; children Lynn Fowler Beckett and her husband Brian of Birmingham, AL, Daniel Rex Fowler and his wife Bonita of Hamlin, WV, Cheryl Lee Fowler of Smyrna and Weldon Allen Fowler and his wife Shannon of Fayetteville; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; siblings, Lamar Fowler, Juanita Pittman and Jack Fowler, all of Montgomery, AL. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Inman United Methodist Church with Reverend Ray Camp and Reverend Royesee Stowe officiating. Burial will follow at Inman United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
