Olivia "Sug" Leila Cantey (Patton) - Class Of 1949

Olivia "Sug" Cantey Patton passed away on January 11th, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia, at the age of 94. She was born to Thomas Clifton Cantey and Lucy Price Naftel Cantey in Montgomery, Alabama, and attended Sidney Lanier High School. After graduating from Sweet Briar College in Virginia, she worked for the Girl Scouts of America organization. Sug was married to Stuart Wagner Patton III for over 70 years, living most of their married life in Atlanta. She was an active leader in school PTAs, Girl Scouts, neighborhood garden and sewing clubs, and was a long-time member of All Saints' Episcopal Church, where she served on several ministry committees, including the Altar Guild for 50 years.

Her brothers, Edward Naftel Cantey and Thomas Clifton Cantey Jr., and her grandson, Charles Patton Konas, predecease her. Survived by her husband, Stuart Wagner Patton III, her son, Stuart Thomas Patton (Susan), her daughter, Leila Patton Konas (Chuck), and grandsons Stuart Timothy Patton, David Thomas Patton (Corinne), and Jacob Allan Konas. Great-grandchildren include Stuart Timothy Patton, Jr., William Thomas Patton, Olivia Anne Patton, Thomas Wagner Patton, and Elizabeth Cantey Patton.

Funeral services are Thursday, January 15th, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at All Saints' Episcopal Church in Atlanta, GA. Graveside will be at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, January 16th, at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, AL.
