HARROD, Eugene, age 75, a resident of Athens, AL, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2006 at Athens Limestone Hospital.  Services will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 10:00 am at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church, Athens, AL with Rev. Dusty McLemore officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 pm at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Birmingham, AL. The body will lie in state at the church from 9-10 am. Mr. Harrod was a member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lindsay Lane Baptist Church. Mr. Harrod was a retired vice president and controller of Alfa Insurance Co. Survivors include: wife, Betty Harrod, Athens, AL; two daughters, Martha Harrod Graham and husband Bill of Birmingham, AL, Beth Harrod Winston and husband Bill of Birmingham, AL; six grandchildren, McKenzie Graham Thomas and husband Matt, Alex Winston and wife Jenny, Allison Graham Gulock and husband Brian, Jordan Winston, Austin Graham and Mitchell Winston; one great granddaughter, Elizabeth Thomas. Pallbearers will be Alex Winston, Mitchell Winston, Brian Gu-lock, Jim Thompson, Matt Thomas, Jordan Winston and Austin Graham.
