STEARNS, Ina Cooper (Polly) died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Woodley Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness. Polly was born April 3,1930 in McKenzie, AL and was a lifelong resident of Montgomery. She graduated from Lanier High School in 1948, and was employed several years with Koppers, The Veterans Administration and Montgomery County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl F. Stearns (1981), and her parents, Austin O.and Annie Mae Hinson Cooper. She is survived by her son, Glenn E. Stearns (Cindy); grandson, Bart Stearns; daughter, Shirley, and granddaughter, Ashleigh Blackerby; and a host of relatives and friends. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 13th at 10:00 a.m. at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Bill Lee officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. prior to the service at Leak-Memory Chapel. Pallbearers will be Preston K. Williams, Jr., Kenneth Blaylock, Ken Wesson, Donnie Cooper, Adam LaHatte and Bart Stearns. Leak-Memory Chapel Directing.
