Frank Aubrey Arnold, Jr. (1930-2002) - Class Of 1948

Dr. Frank A. "Sonny" Arnold, Jr., 72, of Ozark, died Tuesday evening, June 4, 2002, in Dale Medical Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Saturday, June 8, 2002, from Lee Cemetery near Ozark, with the Reverend Gillis Crenshaw and the Reverend Joe W. Lisenby officiating. Interment will follow. Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Dr. Arnold was a native of Montgomery, having lived in various places while serving in Church's of the Alabama/West Florida United Methodist Conference. He received his B. A. from Huntington College, his Bachelor of Divinity from Duke University, and his Doctorate of Theology degree from Emory University in Atlanta. Dr. Arnold served in Montgomery at the Fairview United Methodist Church and the Dexter Avenue United Methodist Church, in Monroeville at the Monroeville First United Methodist Church, in Opelika at the St. Paul United Methodist Church and the Opelika First United Methodist Church, in Luverne at the Luverne First United Methodist Church, in Wilmer at the Wilmer First United Methodist Church, in Panama City, Florida, at the Saint Andrews United Methodist Church, and in Mobile at the Ashland Place United Methodist Church. Dr. Arnold retired in 1990, following 35 years of service in the Ministry. He moved back to his old home place at Klondyke Hill, where he enjoyed the presence of the Springhill Methodist Church on that property. Dr. Arnold was predeceased by his Father, Frank Aubrey Arnold, Sr., and his brother, Curtis Gene Arnold.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie Reynolds Arnold; Klondyke Hill, one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Jeff Graham, Sellins Grove, Pennsylvania, two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Sydney and Robin Arnold, Errington, British Columbia, Canada, .and.Forrest and Cathy Arnold, Red Bluff, CA, former wife, Birdie Barnett Montgomery, his Mother, Eldessa Grantham Arnold, Dothan, one step-daughter, Andrea Etheridge, Charlotte, N. C., six grandchildren Erin Graham, Allison Graham, Camilla Arnold, Will Arnold, Alden Arnold, and Abram Arnold, one brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Eleanor Arnold, Montevallo.
Several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Friendship A. M. E. Church, 128 Private Road 1506, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
