Peggy Juanite White (Monfee Whicker) (1929-2016) - Class Of 1947

Peggy J. Whicker, age 86, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away on January 31, 2016 at home with her family and friends present. Peggy was born in Rockmart, Georgia. She moved with her husband to Murfreesboro in 1958. Peggy was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed going to different churches with friends to listen to sermons.

Peggy was preceded in death by two husbands, Charles W. Monfee and Charles E. Whicker, both of Murfreesboro; her parents, Warren C. and Christine N. White of Montgomery, AL; and grandson, Michael Monfee of Murfreesboro.

She is survived by her son, Andy Monfee and his wife Darlene of Murfreesboro; stepdaughter, Gina Whicker of Phoenix, AZ; brother-in-law, John Monfee and his wife, Rita of Montgomery, AL; sister-in-law, Gloria Wiley and her husband Jerry of Nashville, TN; nieces, Leanne Richardson and Ashley Allred of Montgomery, AL; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Peggy graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery, AL and MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN. She taught school at Reeves Rogers, Bradley and Campus School where she retired with 20 plus years teaching in Murfreesboro.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 6, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. A private burial service for the family will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.

The family would like to thank the nurses with Caris Hospice and Senior Services for the care and support during Peggy's illness.
