Billy Glenn Raley, Sr. (1929-2014) - Class Of 1947

Billy Glenn Raley, Sr., born September 26,1929, went to be with his Lord, February 15,2014, at home surrounded by his family. Bill loved his country and served it well through both military and civil service spanning 37 years each. He served with the US Army from the Korean conflict through a reactivation during Desert Storm. His Civil Service career was with the US Post Office.

He loved his Lord and served Him in many ways. He directed the choir and led the music at Sampey Memorial Baptist Church for 44 years. Bill dearly loved his family: his wife, Mary Dupree Raley, his son, Glenn Raley (Jamie), his daughter Elana D'Arciprete (Mike), and his daughter Jody Fowler (Bill). He delighted in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They are: Anna Raley, Katie Johnson (Johnny), Lindsay Raley, Emily Fowler, Billy Raley, Jimmy Raley (Susanna), Hannah Bradford (Joe), Abbey Fowler Audrey Fowler, Trey and Troy Johnson.

Services will be held February 18, at Sampey Memorial Baptist Church in Ramer, Alabama. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM, funeral service at 11:00AM with graveside to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
