Margaret Ann O'Neal (Ott) (1928-2013) - Class Of 1946

Ann O'Neal Ott, age 85, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2013, at her home in Tampa, Florida. Ann was born May 7, 1928, in Montgomery, Alabama, the daughter of Joe Wheeler O'Neal Sr. and Myrtice O'Neal.

Ann graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and was active in the Girl Scouts of America. She attended the University of Alabama and was a member of Tri Delta. She graduated from Huntington College where she received her degree in education.

In April of 1959 she married Leonard E. Ott and resided in Oxnard, California. During Len's time in the US Air Force they moved to Middlesex, England where they welcomed their son Michael into the world in January of 1960. Later they resided in Gulfport, Mississippi where they added Thomas to the family in January of 1963. They later moved to Merritt Island, Florida, before returning to California in the early 70's.

In addition to raising 2 children, Ann was a teacher and was very active in her church where she had been an elder in the Reformed Church of America. Most recently she was a member of Keystone United Methodist in Odessa, Florida.

Family and friends were Ann's passion and delight. She made many life-long friends wherever she went. She also enjoyed reading, watching baseball and cheering on her favorite football team - Roll Tide!

Ann is survived by her brother, Joe O'Neal and his wife Nelda; son, Thomas and his wife Yvonne; step-son Jeff and his wife Laura; granddaughter Amy and her husband Devin Schneider; granddaughter Hillary Ann; grandsons Chris, Tyler and Joshua; great granddaughter Maya Schneider and a number of other relatives and close friends. Her husband Len and son Michael preceded her in death.

The visitation is from 11am until 1pm on Saturday, May 25th, at the Page-Theus Funeral Home in Leesburg. The funeral service will follow at 1pm, also at the Page-Theus Funeral Home.
