Sonja Gray (Ward) (1970-2008) - Class Of 1988

Mrs. Sonja Gray Ward of Cumming, Georgia, passed away January 4, 2008, following a tragic automobile accident. She was born April 5, 1970 in Montgomery, Alabama. She was a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School in Mont­gomery and Troy State Univer­sity in Montgomery, Alabam­a.

At the time of her death, she was Sales and Marketing Manager with EPIC Response of Kennesaw, Georgia. Left to mourn her loss are her beloved husband, Larry C.Ward of Cumming, Georgia; her parents, Roger and Mary Nell Gray of Lowndesboro, Ala­bama; her sister, Rachel Gray Duckworth of Flowery Branch, Georgia; 2 nieces, Lauren Duck­worth and Chandler Duckworth; 3 stepchildren, Kellie Ward of Savannah, Georgia, Ash­ton Ward of Acworth, Georgia and Alicia Ward of Chattanooga, Tennessee; a sister-in-law and hus­band, Jane and Morris Taylor of Galax, Virginia; 2 brothers-in-law and wives, Taylor and Penny Ward of Morristown, Tennessee and Roy and Tina Ward of Wilmington, North Carolina; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Mary Jo Cosby of Dadeville, Ala­bama.

Sonja was a shining star who touched our lives in so many wonderful ways and left her mark on the hearts of so many by her kindness, com­passion, charity and love. Visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Saturday,January 5, 2008 at Ingram Fu­neral Home, Cumming, Georgia. A celebration of her life was held Sunday, January 6, 2008 at 3:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Cumming.
