Sara Norris (Carson) (1924-2015) - Class Of 1943

Sara Norris Carson, age 90, died at Bethany House on Wednesday, November 25, 2015.

Born December 13, 1924 in Edgewood, AL. She lived most of her life in Montgomery then spent her latter years in Huntsville before moving to Auburn this past year. She worked for the United States Postal Service for 20 years until retiring in 1987. Sara was a member of Perry Hill United Methodist Church for many years and always considered it her home church. She was a member of the Young at Heart Choir for many years and also enjoyed square dancing. Sara was an excellent and very talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing for herself, her family and friends. She was always very crafty and her napkin holders are still in demand at Elmcroft, the assisted living facility where she lived in Huntsville.

Survivors include Tom Carson (Jeanie) of Huntsville, Al. and Don Carson (Valerie) of Auburn, Al. She also had eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Sara was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Kit" Carson, son, Charles John Carson Jr., and daughter, Patricia Carson Freeman.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:30 on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL with graveside services immediately following in Greenwood Cemetery.

The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice .
