Jane Elizabeth Marxer

October 14, 1924 - January 17, 2015

Birmingham, Alabama,  Jane Marxer passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Oak Trace Care & Rehabilitation in Bessemer, AL

Ms. Marxer was preceded in death by her parents Edward L. Marxer and Elizabeth Whitelaw Marxer; brothers Edward L. Marxer, Jr.; David W. Marxer (Ellen); and Arthur W. Marxer (Marian).

Ms. Marxer grew up in Hope Hull, AL and graduated from the University of Alabama in 1956 with a degree in Journalism. She worked for the ANNISTON STAR for three years, then returned to her hometown of Montgomery to work for the MONTGOMERY ADVERTISER, then for the State of Alabama until her retirement to the Cottage Hill neighborhood.

She is survived by nephew Arthur E. Marxer (Risé) of Birmingham; Carl Marxer of Hartford, CT, nieces Theresa Thorsberg (Arthur) of Macon, GA; Meg Zimmerman (Duff) of Winchester, TN, and Cathy Keeton (Calvin) of Simpsonville, SC.

Graveside services will be Friday, January 23, 2015, 11:00 AM, at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery, Montgomery, AL.
