Nancy Pinkston Williamson died peacefully at home on July 13, 2014 after an extended illness.
Born November 21, 1925, Nancy lived in Shorter, Alabama until moving to Montgomery to attend Sidney Lanier High School. She also attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gatewood Williamson; her parents, Olin and Pauline Pinkston, and her brother, O.G. Pinkston, Jr. She is survived by her son, Dudley C. Williamson and daughter, Polly G. Williamson.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 315 Clanton Avenue, on Wednesday, July 16th at 11:00 a.m. There will be a visitation for friends at 10:00 a.m. in Ascension Hall.
The family is especially grateful for the loving care provided by her caregivers, Marilyn, Cheryl, Mattie, Lilly, Mary and the staff of Amedisys Hospice Care.
Memorials may be made to Church of the Ascension or to your favorite charity .
