William Parks

Obituary

William Parks, known to most as "Uncle Bill" passed away Saturday April 13th, 2013. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery. He leaves behind a sister Patricia Parks Roberts, a brother Joseph Parks and many nephews, nieces, friends and neighbors who loved him dearly. Uncle Bill was an Army veteran serving on the front lines as a radio man and medic in France and Germany during WWII. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama in electrical engineering and worked with General Electric and AT&T in New York and Philadelphia. After retirement, he came home to Montgomery and was very active in researching his family history and assisting others in their research. Always dedicated to the Parks family, he spent his last years taking care of his mother, Mae Parks and his aunt Irma Rountree. We will miss his advice and good humor and we are all better people for having known him.
