Dorothy Moore (Cleghorn) (1923-2005) - Class Of 1942

CLEGHORN, Dorothy Moore, 82, a resident of Montgomery, AL., expired August 5, 2005 at home. Funeral services will be held at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Doyle Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Cleghorn was a charter member of the Sasanqua Garden Club a Chapter of the Federated Garden Clubs of Alabama for 40 years, holding positions as President, Vice President, Secretary and Historian She was a longtime member of the East Montgomery YMCA, where she was on the Board of Directors for a year and was a volunteer of the year in 1993. Mrs. Cleghorn was also a longtime member of Dalraida Baptist Church and the “Ruth” Sunday School Class. She loved opera, baseball, dancing the theater and gardening. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Helen Stephens, Marguerite Rooney, Robert Kumli, Vincent Moore and Ruth E. Moore and one grandson, Jeffery Warren Allison. Survivors include three daughters, Marsha Cleghorn Allison of Montgomery, Norma Rebecca Cleghorn of Montgomery and Kathleen M. Cleghorn of Putney, VT., one son William E. Cleghorn, Jr., of Washington, D.C., one sister, Lillian Jones of Virginia and one brother, Albert Kumli of Cincinnati, OH., five grandchildren, Avery Vin-cent Allison, Jon Paul Terrell, William Earl Cleghorn III, Stephen Lee Cleghorn and Margaret Cleghorn, two great-grandchildren, William Earl Cleghorn, IV and Alexis Cleghorn and many nieces and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be William E. Cleghorn, Jr., Avery Vincent Allison, Jon Paul Terrell and Robert C. Allard, Jr. Visitation will be held at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home on Monday, August 8, 2005 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home Directing
