Jeanne Varner Walker (Anderson) (1923-2005) - Class Of 1941

ANDERSON, Jeanne Varner Walker, 82, died Monday October 3, 2005, after an extended illness. Jeanne was born and raised in Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert King Anderson, Colonel, USAF, Ret. Jeanne was very active in the Retired Officers Wives Club, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed her “golden year” experiences in higher education. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, October 6, 2005 at Leak Memory Chapel with Rev. Reed Wilbanks officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am Thursday before the funeral at Leak Memory Chapel. Mrs. Anderson is survived by her son, Van Anderson and his wife, Kathryn Sellers, Birmingham; her daughter, Kimberly Anderson-Abell; her brother, James E. Walker, Jr. (Betty); her in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. S. Jenkins (Elowise) Anderson, Charlotte, N.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Warren C. (Delores) Anderson, Tallahassee, FL. She has several nieces and nephews.
