Lila Henrietta Rhodes (Tate) (1923-2011) - Class Of 1941

TATE, Lila Henrietta Rhodes, died on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at John Knox Manor Health Care Facility, Montgomery, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Tate and parents, James B. and Leota Metcalfe Rhodes. Lila Tate was born in Greenville, AL and married Paul E. Tate of Camden, AL. Paul was a well respected artist in Montgomery and Lila served as Music and Church Secretary at First Baptist Church. Lila was active in the music and senior adult ministries for First Baptist Church including the Joy Singers. The funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 14, at 2:00 p.m. at Leak Memory Chapel, Montgomery, AL with Dr. Jay Wolf and Mrs. Patty Roper conducting the services. Visitation will precede the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Leak Memory Chapel. Memorials may be made to the music ministry of First Baptist Church, 305 South Perry Street, Montgomery, AL. 36104.
