Helen Petrey PENNINGTON went into the loving arms of her Lord March 17, 2008 after battling breast cancer for sev­eral months. She was a de­voted Christian mother and faithful prayer warrior for Cal­vary Baptist Church. Although a petite woman, she had a giant sweet spirit, which served her physical and spiritual families with love. She served with the women of the Gideon Auxilia­ry and was greatly involved in missions. She was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, Archie Melton Penning­ton and two brothers Keith Pe­trey and Theron Petrey, along with her daughter Karen Tale­rico. She is survived by her two sons: Jerry Melton Pen­nington of Pell City, AL and Reverend Archie Mark Pen­nington (Carol) of Atlanta, Georgia; Four grandchildren: Lieutenant Jerry Pennington Jr. of Snead, AL; Steve Pen­nington of Mobile, AL; Sarah Lucas Pennington of Atlanta, GA and Mary Kate Penning­ton of Atlanta, GA.; two great-grandchildren: Jaiden Pen­nington of Snead, AL and Rush Avery of Atlanta Geor­gia. Visitation is to be at White Chapel ~ Greenwood Funeral Home in Montgomery Ala­bama at 1:00 P.M. Thursday March 20, 2008 followed at 2:00 p.m. by the funeral serv­ice.
