Arthurine (Mickey) Morgan Meier, 88, departed this life on Thursday, January 5, 2012. She is survived by three sons, Michael (Lynn), Fredericksburg, VA; David (Debbie), Ft. Walton Beach, FL; Billy (Pam), Montgomery, AL. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Bobby Meier (Kristin), Laurel Jordan (Brian), Emily Schilling (Vern), Katie Whittemore (Walt), Mikey Meier (Holly) and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, R. H. (Pat) Meier and her grandson, Jon David Meier. Mr. and Mrs. Meier met when they were both aircraft mechanics at Maxwell AFB during WWII. She was a charter member of Forest Park Baptist Church and a retired school teacher. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM from Leak-Memory Chapel with Dr. Rick Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Bobby Meier, Jimmy Messick, Don Cluck, Byron Owens, Mike Martin and Ed Corbitt.
