Gloria Jordan passed away surrounded by family Thursday, April 27, 2006. Mrs. Jordan was born on March 28, 1923, in Columbus, Georgia. She was a long time resident of Montgomery, Alabama, before moving in 1967 to Jacksonville, Florida. She graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and Florida Junior College. She worked many years as a secretary before becoming a court reporter. Mrs. Jordan was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lay Carmelites, and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Her mother and father Charles A. and Billie Jo Jordan
Her brother Charles A. Jordan, Jr.
Her son Merrill John Elder, Jr.

Mrs. Jordan is survived by:
Her son Don Elder of Massachusetts
Her son Glynn Michael Elder
Her son Terry Elder of Jacksonville
Her daughter Marie Harrelson of Orlando, Florida
Eleven grandchildren
One great grandchild

A Funeral Mass was prayed in her honor on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at 10:00 AM with Father Keene as celebrant at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 121 E. Duval Street, Jacksonville, Florida. Interment followed in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
