Alice Hill Holding Rollow, 92, of Russellville, died, Monday, October 24, 2016, at Legacy Heights Nursing Home in Russellville. A daughter of Dr. Bruce F. Holding Sr. and Esther May Hill Holding, she was born May 22, 1924, in Montgomery, Alabama. She obtained her master's degree at the University of Southern California and later was an English teacher with Arkansas Tech University and was known for her strong southern accent. She was a tutor for the Pope County Literacy Council. She attended the Central Presbyterian Church in Russellville and enjoyed theatre, travel and the beach. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Rollow; a brother, Dr. Bruce F. Holding Jr. and a sister-in-law, Roberta Holding.
Alice is survived by a daughter, Delia Rollow of Little Rock; a nephew, Bruce Holding III (Sherry); four nieces, Priscilla (John) Stewart, Christy Holding, Melissa (Charlie) Kendall, all of Montgomery, Alabama and Angie(Jeff) Benner of Huntsville, Alabama; and special friends, Stan and Lucas Lombardo and Elaine Tise.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at McFadden Cemetery in Dover with Fr. Jos Tharakan officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
