Frances Castellow (Farnham) (1923-2018) - Class Of 1941

Devoted wife and mother, Frances Castellow Farnham, age 95, died on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, peacefully at her home in Montgomery, Alabama. She was born on July 19, 1923, in Millbrook, Alabama. Frances graduated from Lanier High School in 1941 and then attended Massey-Draughon Business College. She met Donald Farnham while he was stationed at Maxwell AFB and they married on December 2, 1945.

Frances retired from the Montgomery Housing Authority after 19 years. She was a 30-year breast cancer survivor. Frances loved to garden and was an active member of the Forsythia Garden Club. Propagating and growing orchids was her passion. She was active at Frazer United Methodist Church for over forty years. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Farnham Sr. and her parents Carl and Daisy Castellow (Montgomery, Alabama). She is survived by her children, Sarah Farnham Tyus (Roger), Donald Boyce Farnham Jr. (Charlotte), and Janet Farnham Shults (Krel); 5 grandchildren, Thomas Shane Tyus (Bethany), Kathryn Jane Farnham, James Boyce Farnham (Katie), Kayla Frances Shults, Thomas Jacob Shults; 4 great-grandchildren, Alex, Abby and Owen Tyus and Wyatt Boyce Farnham; her sister, Sarah Castellow Hartley (Irby), and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Leak Memory Chapel on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at 10:00 am with a Memorial Service at 11:00 am. A private graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery on Sunday.

The Farnham family would like to extend our gratitude to caregivers Elaine, Beverly, LaVonda, Sue, Irene, and Linda and to Susan from Baptist Hospice and to the caregivers at Angels for the Elderly for their attentiveness and loving care.
