Frances K. "Kitty" Keyton (Marks) - Class Of 1939

Montgomery - Frances Keyton Marks (Kitty), a lifelong resident of Montgomery, Alabama, died January 13, 2019, at age 97.

Born August 25, 1921, Kitty attended Lanier High School in Montgomery, Alabama, Arlington Hall in Arlington, Virginia, and graduated from Hollins College in Roanoke, Virginia, in 1943. She married H. Churchill Marks II of Montgomery that same year.

She was a devoted member of St. John's Episcopal Church, a member of The Junior League of Montgomery, and The Colonial Dames of America.

Kitty is survived by her daughters, Emily Marks Curtis, Catherine Marks Woodson (Ed), and Lucile Marks Luquire (Hans); adoring grandchildren William Churchill Curtis (Bonnie), Andrew Marks Curtis, Spencer Bush Curtis, and Frances Keyton Luquire; great-grandchildren William Churchill Curtis, Jr., Elizabeth Bayman Curtis, and Alice Marks Curtis.

She was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Lewis Hanson Luquire; husband, Churchill; parents, Grover and Lucile Bush Keyton; and sister, Mary Emily Keyton.

Kitty was incredibly fortunate to have such devoted and loving caregivers, Amanda, Andi, Lillie, Quintella, and Tonya. The family is and will be forever grateful to Dr. William D. Smith.

Grandchildren William, Andrew, and Spencer Curtis will serve as pallbearers, as well as Christopher D. Kanne, Hugh B. Thornton, Jr., and Henry H. Hutchinson III.

Funeral Service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church on Thursday, January 17th, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Service in the Parish Hall. Private burial.

Remembrances may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church.
