Zachariah Pope Gordon, Jr., 94, of Hope Hull, AL went to be with his loving wife on March 24th 2016.
He is survived by his brother, Collins Gordon; his daughters, Sheila Gordon and Pam McSwain (Bobby); son, Monty Gordon (Kathy); grandchildren, Deborah Hart, Amee Mullen (Matt), Kevin Jones (Tyree), Jill Service (Bobby), Paul Gordon (Julie), Justin Gordon (Mandy); great-grandchildren, Heather, Zack, Travis, Mattie, Josie, Tyler Ann, Copeland, Forrest (deceased), Paxton, Mary Jack, Jacob, Emma, and Powell.
Graduated from Lanier High School in 1939 and married in 1941, to the love of his life Carolyn.
He Served as a Sunday School Superintendent for 50 years at hope Hull United Methodist Church, and sang with the church choir for over 80 years. He was a board member of the Montgomery County Farmer's Federation (Farm Bureau),and served on the board of the Hope Hull Recreation Center. He farmed all of his life and loved to garden but most of all he loved his family and God.
His family extends many, many thanks to the personnel of Hospice; Many thanks to our caretakers, Mandy Franklin, Michelle, Wanda, and Betty Tucker.
The Pallbearers include; Paul Gordon, Justin Gordon, Kevin Jones, Zack Hart, Bobby Service, Matt Mullen, Jimmy Doby, and Ed Warner. Honorary Pallbearers; Wallace Bush, Joe Pugh, and Hugh Gordon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hope Hull United Methodist church Building Fund(Bell Tower).
