Mary Nell Hawk Suggs, age 86, a resident of Montgomery, AL, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Crowne Healthcare after a short illness. Funeral services were held on Friday, June 2, 2006 at 11:00 am from Leak-Memory Chapel with Wiley Cutts officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at Leak-Memory.

Born October 24, 1919, Mrs. Suggs was the daughter of the late Nona Pearl Hawk and James Lamar Hawk. She was a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School and Massey Draughn Business College in Montgomery, Alabama. She also attended Troy State University.

Mrs. Suggs was a Real Estate salesperson for 30 years and employed by the Montgomery Public School System as a part-time secretary and library aide for 20 years. She was a member of the Vaughn Park Church of Christ.

Her husband, George Burnice Suggs, Jr.
Her son, Terrell Tyrone Suggs

Mrs. Suggs is survived by:
Her son, Gary Bryce Suggs of Montgomery, Alabama
Her daughter, Scottie Suggs Pelham (Larry) of Prattville, Alabama,
Her brother, Ernest Lamar "Buddy" Hawk (Kathryn) of Millbrook, Alabama

Mrs. Suggs was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother.
She has four grandchildren:
Tyrone Pelham (Melanie)
Kirk Pelham (Tiffany)
Amanda Suggs
George "Sonny" Pelham

Mrs. Suggs also has four great-grandchildren:
Garrett Pelham
Cameron Pelham
Madison Bailey
Christopher Bailey

Serving as pallbearers were Tyrone Pelham, Kirk Pelham, George "Sonny" Pelham, Ray Suggs, Calvin Kendrick, and Barry Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were Burnice Suggs and Leon Hawk.
