Frances Harris (Garrett) (1919-2012) - Class Of 1937
Frances Harris Garrett, age 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday November 22, 2012. Born September 1, 1919 in Montgomery, Alabama, Frances embraced life and music, touching many lives as an accomplished pianist. She loved the church and the Lord. She leaves behind and will be dearly missed by a son, John Garrett (Mary), a sister, Ann Carol Coleman (Sid), nine grandchildren (Leigh, Kim, Angela, Erin Trent, Jenny (Gabe), Ellie, Ann Marie, Richard and Rose), three great-grandchildren (Christina, Hayden, Olivia) and many other relatives. Frances is predeceased by her husband, Richard, and two sons, Bill and Steve. Friends will be received at 10AM Saturday December 1 at First United Methodist Church with a memorial service to follow at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jack Horner's Music Ministry Concert Series or to the Stegel Scholarship Foundation.
