Gloria Garrison Couch, 83, a homemaker, of Montgomery, Alabama, died Monday, July 21, 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Joshua Couch Jr, and a son, James Joshua Couch III.

She is survived by a son, Charles Holt Couch of Tallahassee. Other survivors include three daughters, Gloria Couch Johnston of Wetumpka, AL, Patricia Couch Alverson of Cropwell, AL, and Carolyn Couch Clark of Montgomery; five grandsons, Christopher Couch and Brent Couch, both of Tallahassee, Nicholas Elijah of Hayneville, AL, and George Elijah and Ashley L. Clark, both of Montgomery; a great-grandson, Mitchell Holt Elijah; and a sister, Florence Gerrish Santangini of Montgomery. 

A graveside service was Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery. Leak-Memory Chapel in Montgomery handled the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
