Milton G. Beasley (1915-2011) - Class Of 1938

Lifetime resident of Montgomery Milton G. Beasley passed away on February 15, 2011 at the age of 95. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Mary Lou, his sister Beatrice Reid, and brothers William and George Beasley.

He is survived by:
His nephew Mike Beasley of Maryland;
His nephew David Beasley of South Carolina;
His nephew Johnny Reid of Mobile, Alabama;
His nephew Robert Reid of Florida.

Mr. Beasley graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1937. He served for five continuous years during the World War II in the European campaign. His career included employment with the U.S. Postal Service, the Curtis Candy Company, and 36 years with Capitol City Beverage Company.

Mr. Beasley was a long-time member of Montgomery Civitan and the Shriners. He received numerous awards from the Civitans and most recently was awarded the "Foundation Fellow" for leadership and community service. He was a life-time member of the Forest Avenue Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Milton's pleasant smile, positive attitude, and sense of humor were an inspiration to all who knew him and whom he met. Honorary pallbearers were all of Milton's friends.

Visitation was held at 10:30am on Saturday, February 19, 2011, at Leak-Memory Chapel and graveside services immediately followed at 11:30am in Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Glenn Pugh officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Aldersgate United Methodist Church Building Fund, Montgomery, Alabama.
