Frances Augusta Woodruff (Gray) (1915--2011) - Class Of 1933

Frances Woodruff Gray, 96, of Montgomery, AL passed away in the evening of Friday, September 23, 2011. She was born on January 17, 1915, in Sandy Ridge, AL to Pauline and Samuel Woodruff. She moved to Montgomery, AL and graduated from Lanier High School. Having received her degree from Massey-Draughon Business College, she worked for the State of Alabama Department of Revenue in the legal division, retiring after 25 years of service. Frances was a loving and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was a servant to all. Always a faithful follower of Christ, Frances and her late husband, Fred W. Suggs Sr, were active members of the Capitol Heights Methodist Church. After remarriage to Floyd H. Gray Sr, they have been dedicated to the Church of Christ family, currently Dalraida Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, Floyd H. Gray Sr., also 96; her son, Fred W. Suggs, Jr., and his wife, Judy, of Greenville, SC, and her daughter, Dahlene Morse of Hendersonville, NC. She was a proud grandmother of six; Ashley Morse Brittain, Eric Morse, Trey and David Suggs, and Chip and Elizabeth Gray; and three great grandchildren, Wilson and Wyatt Brittain, and Wilson Suggs. The visitation will be held Monday, the 26th, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Leak Memory Chapel. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, the 27th, at Dalraida Church of Christ, followed by a graveside service at the Oakwood Annex Cemetery. Leak-Memory Chapel Directing www.leak-mc.com
