ROTH, John Phillip, 60, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2006. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at 1:00 pm at Christ Church at 301 Dexter Avenue with Reverend John-Michael van Dyke officiating. The family will receive guests in the Fellowship Hall one hour prior to the service. Mr. Roth was preceded in death by his parents, Alva Stephens Roth and Lt. Col. John Sim Roth. Mr. Roth is survived by his wife, Laura Jones Roth; two sisters, Minna Roth Hill and Teddie Roth; three sons and their spouses, Brian Gregory and Layne Roth of Montgomery, Todd Phillip and Jenny Roth of Montgomery & John Herbert and Ann Roth of Birmingham and four grandchildren, Brian Gregory Roth, Jr., Ann Burks Roth, Emory Anne Roth and Peyton Beville Roth. Mr. Roth attended the University of Alabama and Huntingdon College. Mr. Roth was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather devoted to his family and a loyal friend to all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the John Phillip Roth Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of Alabama, Office of University Advancement, Box 870122, Tuscaloosa, AL 35487 or to the Montgomery Humane Society.
