Augustus "Gus" Kirby Clements, III (1942-2012) - Class Of 1960

Augustus Kirby Clements, III, (Gus), a lifelong resident of Montgomery, died Friday, March 9, 2012. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, March 12, 2012, at 1:30 pm at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. John Ed Mathison officiating. Visitation will be at White Chapel Funeral Home immediately following the funeral. Mr. Clements was a graduate of Lanier High School and Auburn University. He served as an officer in the US Army Field Artillery. He served at Ft. Sill, OK and in Germany. He was with The New England Life Insurance Company for over 40 years, most of which he served as the General Agent. He was a CLU and a lifetime member of the MDRT. He was active in civic and business affairs in Montgomery. Survivors include his brother, George Clements and his wife Gail, his sisters Carolyn Clements Sasser and her husband Robert, and Eleanor Clements Kohn and her husband Richard. His two sons and their families are Kirby Penton Clements and his wife Lisa, and daughters Harper and Elaine, and John Tillman Clements and his wife Kellie and sons Persson, Tillman and Gray. Honorary pallbearers will be Berry Grant, Richard Kennamer, Bobby Lowder, Jimmy Massey, Leslie Watson, and Barry Wilson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to The Boys and Girls Club of Montgomery (P O Box 234, Montgomery, AL 36101), or the charity of your choice
