Nelda Rugene Owens Carr, age 83, of Montgomery, AL, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Nelda was born on October 4, 1941, in Montgomery, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Brunell Owens, and her husband of 41 years, Warren A. Carr.

Nelda had multiple jobs over the years, but the job she was most proud of was being a wife, mother, and Oma to her five grandchildren.

Nelda is survived by her children, Amy (Phil) Hinton of Ellijay, GA; Allison (David) Haynes of Mobile, AL; Ashley (Erin) Carr of Gurley, AL, and grandchildren, Zachary Haynes, Jeremy Haynes, Ainsley Haynes, Laurel Carr, and Calvin Carr.

A visitation will be held Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM, and a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL.

Donations can be made to the University Church of Christ or Gentiva Hospice.
