Mary Jones (Peoples) - Class Of 1969 VIEW PROFILE

Mary Faye Peoples, age 74, of Kennesaw, GA, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026. She was born on May 8, 1951, in Montgomery, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, T. Richard Peoples; her parents, Paul Lafayette Jones and Lorena Grier Jones; and her sister, Carol Jones Talley. She is survived by daughter Jennifer Layne Crowder (Nick Crowder), son Douglas Richard Peoples (Tammy Strickland), grandchildren Barrett Crowder (Emily Crowder), Jack Crowder, Tyler Peoples, Lindsey Peoples (Robbie Gilbert), sisters Linda Hughes, Debbie Elwell, brothers Robert Jones, Mark Jones, Coley Jones (Jean Scott Gray), sister-in-law Loretta Alexander (Drew Alexander), brother-in-law Mark Peoples, and many dearly loved nieces and nephews.

Mary Faye was a woman of strong faith in God and a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Her relationship with the Lord guided her daily life and helped to shape the love of Christ in her children and grandchildren. She always spread laughter and joy wherever she went and never met a stranger. She had a great love for all animals, and many thought of her as their own “Snow White”. She loved to share music and stories with her friends and family. Mary Faye was a wonderful listener and wise counselor. Her welcoming heart and her ability to make others feel seen will be remembered by all who knew her.
She graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and went on to lead the way for women in information technology. She started her career as a secretary for the federal government. Through her strong work ethic, adaptability to changing technologies, and courageous approach to new challenges, she rose through the ranks of the US Department of Defense to become the Chief IT Specialist at Naval Air Station Atlanta. After a decorated career, she retired in 2006.

Mary Faye married the love of her life 56 years ago, and the bond they shared was filled with much joy, laughter, and cherished memories. Her time spent with her family was most precious to her. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities and watching them grow into wonderful young adults. She was so very proud of her children and grandchildren! While her kind heart and loving spirit will be missed beyond measure, her loved ones find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her sweetheart, Richard, and in the loving embrace of her Heavenly Father.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 14, at Mayes Ward Dobbins Historic Marietta Chapel. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. before the service.
