Frank “Jimmy” James Jehle, Jr. retired Vice President of Dixie Electric Company, died July 08, 2024, in Montgomery, Alabama. A lifelong resident of Montgomery, he was born on October 21, 1950.
Jimmy followed his father's footsteps working at Dixie Electric for 52 years. This was more than a job for him as he mentored countless young colleagues in work and life. He encouraged integrity, action, and how to be a better person. He attended Lanier High School and Troy University, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and was an active alumnus.
In his younger years, he was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed motorcycles and motocross racing. Later, he was an active member of the Antique Classic Boat Society attending numerous boat shows across Alabama and helping to organize several boat shows on Lake Martin.
At one time, he served on the board of the Montgomery Humane Society. He also enjoyed volunteering at Camp Smile-A-Mile, a camp for kids with cancer and their siblings on Lake Martin. There he captained many boat rides and fixed their many golf carts. Throughout his life, he loved motorcycles, planes, antique cars, and boats.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and loyal friend to many. He was always happy to answer calls, helping friends and family with anything from their home, car, finances, or life advice.
Mr. Jehle leaves his wife, Lucy Jehle, his daughter Ashley Jehle, and her fiancé Will Mitchell, his daughter Mary Patterson, her husband Logan Patterson, and their daughter Arlyne Patterson.
He also leaves many beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mr. Jehle is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Jehle, Sr, and Billie Jehle.
In place of flowers, contributions in his memory would be welcome to Camp Smile-A-Mile of Birmingham, Alabama, or the Montgomery Humane Society.
