In Memory Of Our Poets

Patricia "Pat" Diane Huls (Marchman) (1951-2015) - Class Of 1969

Patricia Huls Marchman (Pat) of Monticello, Florida, passed away at the Margaret Dozier Hospice House on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Pat courageously fought a short battle with pancreatic cancer, which took her far too soon. Pat was born on May 19, 1951 in Carthage, Illinois, and lived in several cities and states before moving to Monticello and making it her home.

Pat is survived by her husband of 27 years John, her mother, Erma Huls, sister, Sandra Hood (Guy), step-daughter Allison and family, her niece Becky and nephew Brian (Shannon) and their families. Pat was preceded in death by her father, Mel Huls, a short six months prior to her passing.

Pat worked for State Farm Insurance and Allstate Insurance for over 35 years, but her true calling came when she and her sister opened Two Sisters' New Beginnings in Monticello. Her love for the shop and the people she met was felt by everyone who came through the door and welcomed by her.

Pat's passion for life was contagious, her smile warm and friendly and she, like her Dad, never knew a stranger. While Heaven gained an amazing angel, the world will miss this beautiful, smart, funny and brave wife, daughter, sister and friend to so many.

The celebration of Pat's life will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Monticello at 2 p.m. with a reception immediately following at the John Denham House located at 555 W. Palmer Mill Rd., in Monticello.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to:
