Joseph "Allen" Brown Jr. (1952-2011)

Joseph Allen Brown, Jr. passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011 after a courageous, nine-year-long battle with cancer. He died peacefully at home.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Deb, son Stuart, step-daughter Jennifer, mother Margaret, brother David, sister Jane Wesley, father-in-law Gerald Lee, sister-in-law Pamela Lee Baker(husband Thomas O.), brother-in-law Wayne Lee(wife Marsha), nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Joe A. Brown.

Born in Tuscaloosa, AL and raised in nearby Eutaw, he attended the McCallie School in Chattanooga, graduated from Lanier High School in Montgomery in 1970 and then from the University of Alabama in 1974.

Residing in Pensacola, FL beginning in 1976 and in Panama City's Bay Point since 1993, he built an impeccable reputation for integrity in the construction industry and was well known in the Panhandle for his involvement in various business and social organizations, including University of Alabama alumni groups such as the Emerald Coast Red Elephant Club.

A memorial service is scheduled at Woodlawn United Methodist Church on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Allen Newton officiating. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at the church.
