Jacob LeRoy Bateman III (1954-2009) - Class Of 1973

Jacob LeRoy Bateman III,56, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama died Friday, February 13, 2009.

Mr. Bateman was a graduate of the Liberty Bible College with a degree in Theology. He graduated from Auburn University Montgomery with a degree in History. He was a genealogy research specialist and an Alabama Genealogical Society, Inc member. He was a member of St. James UMC; a member of the Sons of the American Revolution; and a life member of the Military Order of Stars and Bars. He was the second son of Jacob LeRoy Bateman, Jr. and the late Miriam O. Bateman.

He is survived by one brother, Charles M. Bateman; one sister, Miriam B. Hardeman; three nephews, Michael Bateman (Kayla), Stephen Bateman, and Matthew Bateman.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 16, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. from Leak-Memory Chapel with burial to follow in Montgomery Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour before service time at Leak~Memory Chapel. Leak-Memory Chapel Directing

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Sons of the Confederate Veterans, Capt Henry C. Simple Camp#2002.
